  • Of course that is not a practical answer, since most of us enjoy the convenience of using them. So practically speaking, it is probably safe to use GBoard if you trust Google by using Gmail, Google Calendar or other Google apps or services.

  • What Gboard sends to Google:

    - When you do a search, Gboard sends your query to Google’s web servers so Google can process your query and send you search results.

    - Gboard also sends anonymous statistics to Google to help diagnose problems when the app crashes and let Google know which features are used most often.

What Gboard doesn’t send to Google:

Everything else. Gboard will remember words you type to help you with spelling or to predict searches you might be interested in, but this data is stored only on your device. This data is not accessible to Google or to any apps other than Gboard.

  • There can be many reasons that are causing the issue. Most prominently, it is either the lack of space or a low RAM issue. The errors are still cropping as learned by various complaints all over the world. There could be technical glitch too, which is why the Gboard keeps stopping. As a quick recheck, make sure that the Gboard keyboard is your default keyboard application, is fully updated, and has clear cache memory.

  • 1. Set Gboard as the default keyboard app: go to Settings>> Systems>> Languages & Input>> Current Keyboard>> Gboard.

    2. Restart your smartphone

    3. Cache memory of Gboard app:

    - Go to Settings> About Phone Or Personal> ‘Storage’ or ‘Apps’

    - You will either find Gboard or else Cache Memory. Either way, you may click on that and clear the cache files. Some smartphones show ‘Clear Data and Cache‘. Click on that.

-You may also click on Clear App Data if you find the option.

    - Restart your device and start afresh.

    4. ‘Force Stop’ your Gboard app

    - Go to Settings> Apps

    - Find Gboard app from the list

    - Click on the same and then select Force Stop.

    5. Update your Gboard app

    6. Disable the Gboard app:

    - Settings >> Systems >> Languages & Input

    - Look for ‘Keyboard & Input method‘

    - Select ‘Virtual Keyboard‘ present may be under ‘Input Methods’

    - Click ‘Manage Keyboard‘

    - Disable the app by clicking on the toggle button beside the Gboard app on the list.

  • Open Settings on your smartphone then in the Personal section tap on Language & Input. In the Keyboard & Input section tap on the Current Keyboard option and then select Google Keyboard from the options. Launch any app with a text field (email, messaging, search, etc.) and the Google Keyboard should now be your default.

  • Both did a good job, but Gboard was more accurate. Samsung Keyboard allows using keyboard keys to move around the highlighter in the message instead of flow-typing. Gboard, on the other hand, only offers Glide (flow typing) feature.

  • 1. Open your messaging app of choice. Keep in mind that not all messaging apps are compatible with the Emoji Kitchen. For the purposes of this guide, we'll use Facebook Messenger.

    2. Tap on the user to whom you want to send an emoji to open a conversation with them, and then tap the text bar to start typing.

    3. Tap on the icon that resembles a smiley face to pull up your emojis.

    4. Tap on the emoji of your choice. Stickers with possible emoji combinations will appear in the space above the keyboard. This space is the Emoji Kitchen.

    5. Swipe through the stickers in the Emoji Kitchen and tap on the one you want to send. The sticker that you tap will be sent as soon as you tap on it.

  • - Open Settings on your Android.

    - From the settings menu, select "System."

    - Under System tap "Languages & input."

    - In the "Languages & input" menu choose "Virtual keyboard."

    - In the Virtual keyboard menu tap "Gboard."

    - Tap "Languages."

     - At the bottom of the Languages menu tap the "Add Keyboard" option to activate a new language keyboard.

     - Choose the language you wish to add.

     - Select the keyboard display you would like before adjusting other language settings and tapping "Done."

  • Gboard uses significantly more battery than any other application.

  • 1: To activate, open your Settings menu and tap on System > Language & Input.

2: Under Keyboard, select On-screen Keyboard > Gboard (or your default keyboard).

3:  Tap on Preferences and turn on the Show Emoji-switch Key option.

  • Gboard has GIF input from keyboard. Over time that may be the culprit even if the user explicitly didn't activate the GIF key, it might've been active in the background. also Google integration for searches might contribute to the data usage

  • - Gesture cursor control: Slide your finger across the space bar to move the cursor

    - Gesture delete: Slide left from the delete key to quickly delete multiple words

    - Make the number row always available (enable in Settings → Preferences → Number Row)

    - Symbols hints: Show quick hints on your keys to access symbols with a long press (enable in Settings → Preferences → Long press for symbols)

    - One handed mode: On large screen phones, pin keyboard to the left or the right of the screen

    - Themes: Choose your own theme, with or without key borders

  • Of course that is not a practical answer, since most of us enjoy the convenience of using them. So practically speaking, it is probably safe to use GBoard if you trust Google by using Gmail, Google Calendar or other Google apps or services.
  • Gboard, Google's virtual keyboard, is a smartphone and tablet typing app that features glide typing, emoji search, GIFs, Google Translate, handwriting, predictive text, and more. Many Android devices come with Gboard installed as the default keyboard, but it can be added to any Android or iOS device.
  • The basic keyboard functions work similarly on both platforms, but the Android version is more robust and offers more features. On some Android devices, such as a Pixel phone, Gboard is already installed and set as the default; on other Android devices, you have to download and install Gboard yourself.
  • Gboard can be uninstalled from your phone either through Android settings or through Play Store app. If you have not installed Gboard from Play Store then you need to uninstall only through android settings as APKs installed from unknown sources are not recognized as installed in Play Store app.
  • To add it back:
    • On your Android phone or tablet, open the Settings app. .
    • Tap System. Languages and input.
    • Tap Virtual keyboard. Manage keyboards.
    • Turn on Gboard.
  • Google looks to have disabled the functionality with a server-side change as there's been no app update today. This presumably was an accident as it affects both Gboard's stable and beta channel (9.2). The button has also disappeared from older versions (9.0+) of the app.
