Surat Al-Isra is one of the Meccan surahs, and it was revealed to the Messenger in Makkah Al-Mukarramah after the incident of Al-Isra and Al-Miraj, that is, in the eleventh year of the Prophet’s mission, and one year and two months before the Prophet’s migration to Medina.

It was named Surat Al-Isra because of the mention of the Prophet’s journey from the Holy Mosque to Al-Aqsa Mosque at its beginning, and its number 17 in terms of arrangement in the Noble Qur’an.

The virtue of Surat Al-Isra and its properties
On the authority of Abu Abdullah, peace be upon him, that he said: “There is no slave who recites Surah Bani Israel every Friday night, who does not die until he reaches the Qa’im, peace be upon him, and becomes one of his companions.”

Among the characteristics of the Qur’an: It was narrated on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, that he said: “Whoever recites this surah, his heart is softened when parents are mentioned, he will have a quintal in heaven, and a quintal is one thousand and two hundred ounces, and an ounce is better than the world and what is in it, and whoever wrote it and put it in a rag of silk. It was green and he guarded it and threw arrows, he was right and did not miss, and if he wrote it in a container and drank its water, he would not be able to speak, and his tongue spoke the truth, and his understanding increased.”

The virtue of Surat Al-Isra for marriage
Determining the reading of a specific Surah such as Surat Al-Baqarah or Surat Al-Dukhan or the end of Surah Yasin, or a specific verse with a specific number for a specific purpose is not valid unless it was reported from the Prophet, peace be upon him, there is no room for opinion in this meaning, and God Almighty does not accept worship except what was Purely for his sake in accordance with his law, and it is not heresy and innovation that draws closer to God Almighty to answer supplications, and Surat Al-Dukhan and Surat Al-Baqarah and Yasin, like other parts of the Holy Qur’an, are read for help in fulfilling needs and so on, because in the hadith: Whoever recites the Qur’an, let him ask God for it. recited by Al-Termethy, and corrected by Al-Albani.

Al-Mubarakpuri said in Tuhfat Al-Ahwadhi: Let him ask God for it - that is, let him ask God Almighty through the Qur’an whatever he wants of the affairs of this world and the hereafter - or what is meant is that if he experiences any mercy, he should ask it from God Almighty
