Radio Illimani, during the armed conflict of the Chaco War, went out into the air with the sole objective of countering the Paraguayan communication offensive that showed Bolivia at the international level as an aggressor country.

For this reason, the Center for Propaganda and National Defense created on July 15, 1933 the state radio station whose first programs were destined to disseminate information related to Bolivian actions in the war conflict.

The radio managed to consolidate itself as the Bolivian communication network with the largest reach in South America, the United States and Europe.
