FAQs

  • The Google Pixel Buds app itself can be installed on any device running Android 6.0 or higher, although this is likely as the application and earbud features require added frameworks from these builds to function properly.
  • I'm able to disable it on my Pixel 3 at Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > Pixel Buds > Disable. Does that not work for you? That will at least keep the app from running and eliminate the nags to update the app.
  • Control music and audio with Google Pixel Buds gestures
    • Play or pause media. Tap on either earbud.
    • Skip to the next track. Tap twice on either earbud.
    • Play the previous track. Tap three times on either earbud.
  • Manually pair Google Pixel Buds Press and hold the pairing button on the back of the charging case until you see the white earbuds status light pulsing. On your phone's Bluetooth settings menu, tap Pair new device. Tap on the Pixel Buds headphones' name to pair them with your phone.
